Sydney tomorrow, 8 hours and to make it that much better, I found out my sister might be at the funeral. She called our oldest uncle today to complain about how little notice she had about the funeral but she'll try and make it. What do you say to that; Sorry he didn't die at a more suitable time? Seriously. She is double my age and I'm the more mature one. It's crazy.

Tonight, my mother's oldest brother called to tell her that the middle one with lung cancer, had passed away at 2pm this afternoon. He died in his sleep and when Mum called to talk to his wife, she got one of my cousins who said he was at peace but... still. I tried so hard to get her up to Sydney to see him before he died and she didn't get to. I know that isn't my fault but it still feels like it is. My dad is giving us money to go up for the funeral (he doesn't want to come) but I'll pay him back. He won't accept cash back so I'll just spend the money on groceries and things for the house - payment in trade.
Why Christmas though? Seriously. Any other day and I wouldn't feel guilty about talking to friends or asking them to cheer me up/to distract me but today I can't even say 'Hey, my uncle died' because dude. Buzzkill.

Dear Self,
You have too much to do right now. You need to write 6000 more words before you're done with Nanowrimo. You need to clean your house for Uncle #2 who arrives from New Zealand tomorrow. You need to hang up last week's laundry and do this weeks too. You should also shower, save the water in the tub and wash the dog before that rash gets any worse. You have to do all of this and still get to bed at a decent hour because you have to wake up at 5am to get aforementioned uncle from the airport two hours away.
So why, WHY, are you still sitting online on insanejournal? Seriously fool, RP can wait. You do NOT want to pick up your friend's character's little brother. No, you do not have ideas for what he could have seen to cause the rift between them. You do not care that he's an awkward loner stuck in a new town. You do not want to pick him up. So stop thinking about it and go work on that stupid novel instead because you'll be too tired to do it tomorrow.
